4 Body Sculpting Procedures

Health & Medical Blog

Even after you've worked hard to lose weight, you may have stubborn areas of fat you want to treat.  people struggle with sagging skin from aging or weight loss. Luckily, body sculpting procedures can help give you back your body. If you would like to know more, check out these four body sculpting procedures to consider.

1. Cryolipolysis

Cryolipolysis targets subcutaneous fat. This is the fat that lays just below your skin, and it is commonly found on your legs, arms, and belly. During the procedure, a device is used to lower parts of your body to freezing temperatures. This kills the fat cells in that area. The process is not immediate because it takes a little while for the cells to die, and your body to absorb them.

This is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure, so you can usually get back to your regular routine immediately. Some people may have mild temporary irritation to the area such as swelling and bruising. You may also experience some aching in the treated area.

2. Laser Lipolysis

Laser lipolysis is another non-surgical treatment that also targets subcutaneous fat. During this procedure, however, laser heat is used to target and kill the fat cells. Again, it takes a little time for the cells to die off and be absorbed by the body, but there is no downtime after the procedure. After treatment, you may have some redness or swelling in the area.

3. Liposuction

Liposuction is a surgical way to remove fat from the body. With this type of procedure, you can remove fat from many parts of the body. Cryolipolysis and laser lipolysis may cause damage to the skin around the neck, chin, and ankles. However, liposuction can be used anywhere without damaging the skin tissue.

Liposuction does come with more risks than non-surgical options because you have to undergo general anesthesia for the procedure, and incisions need to be made. Recovery time is longer, but results are often more dramatic.

4. Lift/Tuck

A lift is a surgical procedure that is used to lift parts of the body. This is commonly used in the form of facelifts, and there are many facelift options, including a full facelift or an upper facelift. A facelift can help get rid of sagging skin and wrinkles.

Skin can also be tucked or removed to help fight sagging skin. This is common on the stomach in the form of a tummy tuck. Many women get tummy tucks after having children because the belly skin is stretched.

There are many ways you can transform your body. Body sculpting is one of the best ways to finally get rid of stubborn fat or loose skin. If you would like to know more, contact a body sculpting provider in your area today.
